Your Favorite Traffic Generation Methods

November 28th, 2006

Sometimes as Internet marketers we need a good solid reminder that there is a much larger world out there than the strategies that we are already applying.

For example, many of you have probably heard of the common traffic generating techniques, such as:

* Google Adwords
* Forum Posting
* Ezine Advertising
* Article Marketing

There are many others, but these are some of the most common.

At the Big Seminar in Atlanta, Georgia in October I learned that some of the biggest marketers are concentrating a lot on banner advertisement. That surprised me, seeing as how most people will say that banner ads are dead!

I have also learned new techniques from my own readers and my own affiliates. One affiliate builds his list by submitting products to JV giveaways. He managed to add 900 people to his list in one month, and nobody even knew who he was!

I am curious, what are your favorite ways to generate traffic?

Please reply by posting a comment here on the blog for everybody to see. Also, take time to study what others say as I am sure you will find many good ideas.

Let’s here them!

    I have 15 tools that I enjoy using, but my favorite by far is Squidoo. Targeted traffic, powerful SEO results, nice affiliate program integration, and list building can be worked in. And it’s all free.

    I like the FREE traffic that the S.E.’s provide.

    It does take some work and effort but it pays off in the long run. It’s free what is better than that?

    I do SEO almost on a daily basis, tweaking here and little there, but it seems to work.

    I get visitors from Google, MSN and Yahoo.
    Google is the most difficult since it changes algorithms about as often as I change underwear.

    As you might guess, we are in favor of article marketing. We also run a few affiliate sites and we promote those with our own article marketing service called Internet Marketing Auto Pilot. We do everything - write articles with links to the client’s site, submit them to article directories and then post them to a blog [sample]. Check it out!

    I’m quiet new to this game but I’ve had some reasonable success utilising social networks (both virtual and otherwise).
    I’ve worked in some reasonably large orginisations and each these has generated good, loyal traffic for my websites with only a few emails being required at this end.
    Online social networks have also been pretty useful although not nearly as loyal.

    My favorite traffic building method is SEO (of course!) It brings a lot of traffic to my sites which have good SE rankings.

    Social bookmarking is a nice one too, it helps other people discover your site. ;)

    A list of my ‘tried and tested’ traffic generation methods may be found on my blog.
