Mike Filsaime’s “Death of Internet Marketing” - A REAL Review

November 13th, 2006

Click here to read Mike’s free report…

Ok, by this point you have probably received 100 emails (or more) about Mike Filsaime’s new report “The Death of Internet Marketing.”

Want to know why?

It is because Mike is paying $1 for every referral that is sent his way!

If you could make $1 for every person who signed up FOR FREE to somebody else’s list, would you send out a promotion?

However, I wanted to do something different than every other marketer out there - I want to be HONEST with you and send you an email that I have personally written so that you can see whether this is the real deal…

Or whether this is just another “free report” that leads to yet another huge product launch.

You may have noticed that I am sending this email a little late - if I wanted to make any real money from the report then I would have jumped on board right away so as to make sure that you heard it from me first.

But I am not interested in making money from this review.

Sure, I’ll make $1 if you go and sign up through this link, but it will only add up to a few dollars (maybe even a few hundred, but that is not enough to make me want to send out an email).

What I am more interested in is getting the right information to you at the right time.

You probably already realize the Internet is changing. You already know that you are getting FAR too many emails about new products (hey, I’ve been sending quite a few lately because there are SO many good and new things happening, but even that is going to change!).

Eventually things have to change. Eventually it will become too hard to send out mass emails and actually make money.

Eventually you need to do some things differently.

When I finally sat down and read Mike’s report I was pleasantly surprised.

First off, he tells you right off the bat his “motivation” for writing this report: He wants to build a huge list of Internet marketers who he can market to over the next year.

Sure, he already has a list of 300,000 marketers, but he wants a fresh and active list.

He has no product ready to go yet, but you can be sure he will come out with new ones that he will then turn and sell to this list.

But in the meantime he is willing to do something that most marketers just don’t make the time for - he is going to give you GOOD information.

(Much like the motivation behind me making this blog - I wanted a place where I could just post good free information without you having to do anything except read)

Of course this motivation comes from wanting to build your business stronger - the more great information you can give someone the more they will like and trust you. And the more they like and trust you the more they will buy what you sell and what you promote.

(Unless of course you start promoting junk in which case you will lose that trust)

However, I digress…

Here is my simple review of Mike’s report:

I didn’t like how it started.

I hate “scare tactics.” I absolutely HATE them.

I don’t like marketing to somebody by scaring them into thinking they are going to go out of business if they don’t do something that you are about to tell them.

It is absolute BS!

How can one person accurately predict exactly what is going to happen? Now, Mike doesn’t try to predict the future, he is only saying that we have to become more effective if we want to keep making money.

But I just don’t like the beginning tone that creates that feeling in your chest like you’re doing everything wrong.

Luckily, Mike gets to some strategies that you can use starting TODAY.

I am a big fan of strategies.

I don’t like to read a report that leaves me thinking “Now what?”

I want somebody to tell me what they are doing that is working, and then show me an example. I can take that example and start applying it to my business.

In this case Mike talks about a specific email strategy that I had already thought of doing, but had “put it off.” Well, it ain’t getting put off any longer (in fact, I used it to get you to this blog today, and you probably don’t even know what it was).

You can read Mike’s report to find out what that strategy is.

Mike also talks about the future of “JV” deals.

Once again he is making a prediction, but I believe it is an accurate one because it is the same as what I have felt.

In short, he is talking about just saying “No!”

And I will confess, I have a hard time saying “no.” You may have noticed that you get a lot of emails from me promoting new products (all of which are good or great).

However, I am changing the way I run my business, and I suggest you do the same.

(That doesn’t mean you won’t see promotions from me - on the contrary, you’ll probably see a new one each week. However, it will be more thought out, more tested, and much much more effective)

Now, you have one of two choices:

Go and download Mike’s report.

OR

Watch this blog for new strategies as I perfect them.

If you prefer not to get tied up in another list, then just sit back and wait for me to perfect these strategies and then teach them to you.

If you want to apply things a little faster than that (and match my pace rather than being one or two steps behind), then go and download the report now.

P.S. Oh, and post your comments here on what you think of this report (or just post if you have something that you need to get off your chest about the recent events on the Internet).

I thought Mike’s report was excellent. The best part was his analogy about how most newbies and some people who have been around for awhile jump from one program to another. You need to focus on one thing and become an expert on it. That advice right there can really make a difference in your business. Find one thing you like, whether it’s AdWords, AdSense, Affiliate maketing, and stick to it. Your success will come much easier.

It seems that every time I look into Mike Filsaime it is a crisis and you need to join something. This guy wants you to join programs after you have already joined his program just so he can tell you to join another program to clairify his first program. He has got to have a background in US government! Only the government can jerk you around that way and get away with it.
Matt, I’ll wait for you to decipher these deals and react to your opinions and directions.

    Hi,

Excellent review. I read the report, and it did indeed have some relevant info. But like you, I really don’t like the marketing scare tactic.

Mike seems like a real good guy, who offers a lot of good information. But I think what Allan said above was funny–and lets not forget that Mike was a car salesman.

    Need I say more? =)

    Matthew -

I learned a long time ago - Mike never does anything that doesn’t add to his mailing list. Which is fine, except I now get multiple copies of every e-mail he sends at more than a dozen different e-mail addresses.

He is much better than some at actually deleting when asked, but I have reached the point where I rarely take any “free” offer (most are worthless, anyway) that asks for an e-mail address to get it. More than 2000 e-mails a day already is plenty, thank you.

Besides, the “IM is dead” bit was an immediate turn-off. So I really appreciate your option to just wait for what you develop.

    Cheers,
    J.R.

Scare tactics - every big co are using it - “if you don’t upgrade to Vista, your are not safe”.

Very open and what to expect in the new year - stay focused and execution is everything.

My only question is - because I am trying to decide how to get involved - do you have to be a technical-business “guru” or just business “guru”?

“FUD” - is well and alive.

    Interesting postscript to all this:

Just received a link - http://tinyurl.com/v85wk - from Anthony Tomei saying he is the actual author of the report Mike Filsaime is hawking (this link takes you right to the report, with no e-mail address required). Since I haven’t read Mike’s, I don’t know if they are identical or not. As you have, maybe you can tell us.

  7. Terry Says:

If Mike already has a list of 300,000 marketers but wants a fresh and active list, then I’d say that perhaps he doesn’t know how to properly work his list and considers his loyal readers to be disposable. Instead of looking at why *he* may be ineffective, he’s going to blame his list, give up on it, and just go buy a new one? Nice, Mike. It’s no wonder you need a new list.

  8. Matthew Says:

    Hey Terry,

Actually I don’t think that is what he is implying at all. He does have a list of 300,000 and he makes a ton of money from it, but there is more to Internet Marketing than having a big list.

What is even more powerful than your current list? A fresh list of subscribers who have just recently added themselves.

For one thing, their email addresses are more current (think about how many times you changed your email address in the last year).

It has been shown that the “hottest” buyers on your list are the newest ones (contrary to what you might think).

That doesn’t mean that you disregard your loyal subscribers. On the contrary, they should be rewarded with special content and better offers.

All it means is that you need to constantly have an influx of new subscribers to keep your business flowing well.

I agree that the recent onslaught of product launches, oto’s and jv giveaways that lead to resale rights products being devalued to the point that most of them have a “shelf life” of about 2 weeks has gotten completely out of hand, I find it ironic that Mike Filsaime is now speaking out against the chaos, when in a sense he was the one that helped create it with the release of the “Butterfly Marketing” scripts and manual.

I respect Mike’s abilities as a “clever marketer”, however he would have to pull all forms of “Butterfly Marketing” off the market for me to be convinced that he’s REALLY serious about bringing some form of sanity back to the Internet Marketing industry.

  10. The Lawyer Says:

This is my personal opinion. I respect everybody.

Something must be clear this is not envy this is the reality.

Well The October effect-products launch overdose- it was growing and growing during the previous months and in October it reached the top, I hope so- the top.

Now everybody has a product, everybody is promoting and selling. It’s incredible.

The point I wanna touch is very critical.

Let me explain-Internet marketing (IM) is a Skyrocket commanded by a small group of persons .
What I mean when I say Skyrocket is that IM is moving at a high speed and you need to be updated and informed or you’ll be the last one, but try to get the good stuff, cause with all this launches you could get the wrong one.

With Small group of persons I mean there is an Inner Circle where they have created relationships and friendships. It’s difficult to access.

They are helping each other and then it’s hard to say NO - I don’t promote this product- to a friend, because you’ll be out and in the black list, many doors will be closed.

The point is, for most of them Money is the most important thing in life. It doesn’t matter if they are making millions or billions, you know, money, money and more money business is business. The rest is not important. Oooh my friend.

In October there were 17 popular Internet marketers launched products, but there were many others launches too.
Questions- what about the quality?-How big marketers can promote something without knowing the real value, knowing nothing about it, if it works or not, without test it? I have seen it during the lasts months and I have the proof, cause I have saved all this offer arrived to my inbox and I have some products.

Of course some of them were good products.

Answer-Simple, Just Money-They are inside the circle. Their Income are increasing and increasing, but how do they make money?

They are making money from you (if you are out) and were doing from me but since a long time ago not more and you know why? Cause I realized that I was losing time and money. I said stop. I can’t be influenced for this people, I have a mind and I have to use it, then everything changed for me. But I remained with the crowd, to see acting this Inner Circle and believe me it’s funny. You receive tons of e-mails promoting a big marketer product from others big marketers and you say WOOOOW it should be good cause all this people are promoting it, and you buy it.

Then when you test it-What a Frustration-Where is the honesty and the care about the others, the respect? It doesn’t exist. They don’t realize that they are losing reputation and credibility. There are more honest people out there waiting for an opportunity to show their value.

Now Mr. Filsaime realized that there are many things wrong and damaging this world. And he wants to change it, but it’s not easy. I’m sure he will create his team and will choose his Join Venture partners carefully. I know he can do it, cause he is one of the best and I admire him, but not everybody will do it remember Money is important and they are afraid to finish in the black list.

So don’t get me wrong but in my personal opinion it’s not the death of IM, and it’s not dying-These people are killing IM, well they are trying to kill it. But it’ll be very hard, cause I’m here to avoid it, as many other people as Mr. Filsaime too, I hope. It’s time to stop this murder.

We want a clear and healthy world.

I know I’ll finish in the black list and out of the circle forever, but I don’t care about it. I have never been inside and I have never thought to be part of it.
I wanna stay out but with a high reputation. I have many proof but this is not the moment to name them.

  11. Richard Says:

I have only a few words on this subject

Is money your servant or are you its master - As Bob Dyllan once said “You gotta serve somebody” - will it be mammon or….

Sales With Integrity is what I say - that way you stay in focus and grow with discernment and character rather than popularity.

    Serve’s up!

    Richard

  12. Jerry Says:

I’m only a newbee but I have noticed a lot of clutter and noise about whos product is better and you must have this new program to succeed. The word overload has been used and I agree. I will just listen to a couple people I have followed for several months now and I like what Matthew reports and says in his information blogs and newsletters.
There are too many “used car” salesman on the web with less than quality information. I have asked for refunds on some products because they are just a rehash of someone elses ideas so I beginning to wonder how am I suppose to make any money in this madness when there is so much madness already. It seems hopeless.

  13. AKumar Says:

    In my opinion…
    ..IM is changing, evolving further..
New and more efficient systems are taking over…
And these are more user friendly with an average Internet surfer / Netprenuer.

  14. Bill Says:

    This mainly for Matt G:

I’m not exactly a newbie, but I have yet to call myself an Internet success, after two years.

I have not responded to any of your emails until today. Somehow, I was in the right frame (on a Sunday afternoon in April) to take some time out to drop in on this blog.

You’re hitting on some important buttons as far as running a successful business model is concerned.

Scare tactics are more old hat than I am…and that’s pretty old. What’s new is that hundreds of thousands of people are (virtually) being teased into thinking they can get out of their cars and start flying jet planes! Just because it’s a thousand times easier to start a venture than ever before has no bearing on one’s chances of success!

Someone mentioned the myriad products and offers available today on the net. Mike, I believe you are hinting that we should say “no” to these glitzy magic wands.

In two years, I have come the firm conclusion that, as an entrepreneur, I will have to rely on my business and communications skills more than ever. I suspect I will get a lot of insight from visiting this forum and responding to more of your emails.

Thanks for displaying a qualitative platform for solving business problems. To me this looks like a winning deal!
